Questions about the Walk

How do I register for the Walk?

  • Register online by clicking here. After the registration page appears choose either dog pack registration or individual registration. Follow the steps on the registration page.

  • Early check-in, prize pick up and 5K Packet Pick up in person at the shelter: 
    • Sept. 24th - Sept. 26th — Thursday - Friday: 12 p.m. - 7 p.m., Sat: 12 p.m. - 4 p.m.

  • Register by mail: Send completed form and check payable to NHS.

I'm having trouble registering for the Walk.
If you're trying to register another person, but our online software won't let you because you share an email address or they don't have an email address please see the possible solutions below.

  • Make an additional donation when registering or to your personal page to cover the $35 registration fee of the additional people you would like to register. After you make that donation email walkonline@nehumanesociety.org with the other person's name and t-shirt sizes.
  • Stop by early registration on the dates listed above to pick up your t-shirt and prizes and then register the other people. 
  • If you are trying to register children and they don't want a t-shirt, there is no need to sign them up since children 10 and under will not have to pay an admission fee. If your child is over 10 the admission fee the day of will be $10. 
  • Stop by the registration tent the day of the Walk and register the other people.

Is there an Admission Fee to the Walk for the Animals & 5K Run?
This year there is a $10 admission fee entrance into the NHS Meadow to visit vendors and rescue groups.

When you register online you'll be asked to pay either a $35 or $40 registration fee depending on participation type.  This registration fee will cover the admission fee the day of the Walk and guarantee you a Walk for the Animals & 5K Run Shirt.

I walked last year, can I log in with the same information?

Good News!! All of your information on your personal page and address book were saved. Instead of registering as a new walker, selecting returning user and type in your username and password from last year and all of your information will be recalled.

How do I become a sponsor?

  • Click here to visit the Sponsorship page and fulfill your sponsorship online by filling out the online sponsorship form.  Sponsorships fullfilled online can be made in installments.

What happens the day of the Walk/Run?

This is a day for you and your companion animal! Come and have fun! You can enjoy the Pancake Man; visit the Vendor Village where all our amazing sponsors will be on hand to greet you. Experience our Adoption Parade and the ever popular Alumni Parade that lead us all into the start of the Walk for the Animals. Additionally, many area Rescue groups will be positioned throughout the meadow. And of course, it’s a day see other pet passionate people like yourself, having fun with their companions.

What is Club 500?

Individuals who raise $500 or more automatically become Club 500 members. The day of the Walk Club 500 members will have complimentary valet parking, pancake breakfast and access to a special area reserved for members and their animals.
