Humane Hands

Humane Hands is for 13- to 16-year-olds who want to learn about different departments and topics within the Nebraska Humane Society. Participants will take part in a variety of activities and hands-on service projects at the shelter. 

Details

• Cost is $185 per participant
• Sessions will be from 10 a.m. - noon
• Sessions are limited to 12 participants. Handwashing and other safety protocols will be implemented through the duration of Humane Hands. 
• Each attendee will receive a Humane Hands t-shirt.
• All activities will be facilitated by a humane educator and animal program coordinator.
• Attendees will have a chance to become a camp counselor for our summer camps.
• Education Teachers (paid staff) are all CPR, AED, First Aid, and EpiPen trained for your child's safety.

Please Note

It is important that your child is able to fully participate in each activity. We will not have alternative activities planned for each session. Your child must be between the ages of 13-16 to participate. Once your child is registered there will be no refunds for cancellations.

All participants should wear closed-toe shoes, bring a water bottle and a sweatshirt or jacket as our facility is cool. Please drop off your child no earlier than 10 minutes prior to the start time of each session. For safety reasons, all participants must be picked up immediately after each session concludes. Late pick-ups will be charged a fee of $1.00 per minute after 5 minutes. Thank you for your cooperation.
