Wesley is Perfect

Thanks for giving us the gift of the finishing puzzle piece to our family!

My boyfriend (Matt) and I were devastated when we lost our 5-year-old Doberman, Cleo during the first week of November of this year. Grieving was a difficult process for us because her death was very sudden and unexpected. We also have a 9 year old Min. Pin named Roxy that began acting up and wandering the house looking for Cleo. We were all lost without her.

Matt and I decided that around Christmas we would start looking for another dog to share our love with. Being the crazy dog person that I am, I started looking at Doberman rescue groups right away. After a bit of discussion, Matt and I decided that maybe having another Dobie in our home would be difficult for us because we loved Cleo so much and another dog that looked like her might not be the best thing for our emotions. At this point, my mother was also helping in our search for the perfect addition to our family and we sent e-mails about potential pups to meet daily. I forgot to mention that my family also has a love for animals with "issues," which lead us to look at the Diamond Dogs at NHS. It was at this point that I stumbled on a picture of this handsome fella named Wesley. He was PERFECT for our family! I contacted NHS immediately and after discussing a few things, it was decided that Wes was not a good fit for our family due to the fact that we also had a small dog. After that news, Matt and I decided to take a break from looking for a while. Then, Angie from NHS who had been working with Wesley and his issues gave us a call and said she wanted to schedule a meeting for Wesley and Roxy!!!!! The meeting went great and we all fell in love with Wesley during our meeting. He was full of energy, loved to give kisses and was absolutely charming!

Wesley has now been a member of our family for 3 months and we couldn't imagine life without him. He is at times a maniac but he is just what we needed. Thanks Angie and NHS for giving us the gift of the finishing puzzle piece to our family!
