A long overdue success story

ADOPT A BLACK CAT !!!

As the title indicates, this a long overdue success story as I adopted my black cat Reggie in January of 2006. I was shown several cats that day and Reggie was the only one that didn't purr. He just sat next to me, staring me down, never losing eye contact. Years ago, we had another Reggie in our family, a little black dog, so Reggie didn't know it, but he already had an "in" with me. I decided to take Reggie home with me. The staff tried to get me to take another cat, but, having never had a cat before I said "let's see if I can keep this one alive for 6 months and then we'll see about another one." Well, it's been almost NINE years now and I can't imagine this house without him.

Realizing that he was getting lonely while I was at work, I adopted another little black cat in January of 2008. They became fast friends and remain so to this day. Oh, and about that whole "not purring" thing? Reggie jumped in the bed the first night he was here and purred both of us to sleep.

Thank you NHS for all you do!
