Stella & Jordi  I had been browsing the Humane Society's website for a couple month prior to moving into my new house in May, 2013. I had talked about the possibility of getting a dog with my son who is 13 and really wanted to get a dog. When I first started looking on the website these two little dogs really caught my eye and their story made me want to come and rescue them. There previous owner was killed in a car accident and they wanted to keep the two of them together. My son saw them online and wanted to go get them immediately. Knowing school was about to be out and we were taking a vacation soon, I thought it would be best to wait until all that was over so we would have time to help any dog we got adjust to their new home. I would still check the site every few days to see if they were still there and right before we went on vacation their picture disappeared so I figured someone must have adopted them. About a week later, they were back. At this point, I really felt it was meant to be for my family to adopt them. Three days after we got back from vacation, we went to the Humane Society to go get them. We looked at all the other dogs just to be sure and decided that yes, we still wanted those two dogs, even after stern warnings from the volunteers about Stella's barking all the time. They have done great! I would say they are still probably adjusting to living with us and can be a little jittery, but overall they have really come a long way. They are both so sweet and laid back. Stella does love to talk but mostly saves it for when we are on walks. They are certainly spoiled and we are so glad that they get to have their forever home be with us. They were meant to be our dogs. |
