Blindness no Handicap for Love

After losing our much loved dog Max, we decided it was time for a new 4 legged child.

After several trips to the Humane Society we met Scarlett, a 6 yr old blind Cocker Spaniel. Scarlett's sweet personality won us over and we took her home. It's been a little over a month now and Scarlett has made herself at home. She doesn't bump into walls and furniture very much anymore. She is learning where the fence and trees are in the backyard (most of the time). She has learned if we tell her "watch it" to change direction.
Scarlett would not play or even chew rawhide when we first brought her home. She happily chews on rawhides now. She is learning to play and has even surprised us with play growls now. We've learned to play a form of soccer with her so she can feel the toy her feet and mouth.
She also loves to sleep with us and is constantly on the couch with my husband "watching" tv. We hope to get her a playmate soon so we'll be back.
