My Sweet Emmy

My Sweet Emmy

We were leary about adopting a new cat as we already had one and he wasn't very accepting to change and new people OR animals. So, we decided we would go take a look since they were giving cats away for free at the time.
We initially wanted a young cat thinking our current cat would be able to "set the ranks" so to speak. We were also looking for a fairly mellow cat in hopes it would cause less stress to our current cat. As we walked along the long line of cages, I saw Emmy and was instantly attracted to her tortoise shell coloring. she was a bit older than we were looking for, but when I looked into her big green eyes I had already decided I wanted to meet her.
She was very shy and very leary of us at first. I shook a toy in front of her and she warmed up almost immediately. Before I knew it, she was sitting on our laps as if she knew she had met the people that would love her for the rest of her life.
She gets along great with her brother and they play and chase each other around the house all the time. She is the sweetest little cat I've ever met and talks to us everytime she wants something. She can't get enough attention and I can't give her enough! I know she's grateful for the wonderful home we have given her and I am even more grateful to have been blessed with such a loving, wonderful cat.
