Mochi

Mochi

My boyfriend and I adopted our dog Marley from the shelter last fall. A few months ago I convinced him to let me adopt a cat. He was adamant it would be my cat, and he wouldn't have much to do with it.

Regardless, we went to the NHS together to look for a cat. He was very active in selecting, and played with the kitties through the glass. We chose 2 to meet with; Ginger who we'd bonded with, and Mozzi who was sleeping in his box that we couldn't really see, but was the right age and personality color for us.

When they brought in Mozzi we were stunned. We had no idea how beautiful he was! He acted sweet and felt relaxed when I held him. He was ours. Not sure what Mozzi was or what it referred to, we changed his name to Mochi after the dough covered ice cream.

Mochi is a very unusual cat. He did have some behavioral problems with biting and attacking, but with some work he's stopped biting us almost completely. He is great with our dog and very loving. I've never seen him scared or hiss.

My boyfriend is very fond of him now and refers to him as his cat or kitty. We are very happy with Mochi, and glad we stuck through the tough times with him. It's safe to call him a success story now!
