A New Member of the Family  Older dogs are worth adopting too! My wife and I adopted Dexter (formerly Lucas) last weekend. He's an 8 year old German Shepard mix. We recently moved into our first house and had been casually keeping an eye on the kennels for a potential addition to our family and resident dog, Daphne. We knew we wanted a male, medium energy, larger dog. Dexter fit all of our needs. His age had me a bit hesitant at first, but I'm so glad we decided to give him a new home. He has fit in wonderfully, is well behaved and well trained. He's had a bit of separation anxiety when left alone, but even that is beginning to fade. We couldn't be happier with our new addition. |
