Two dogs are better than one

I was hesitant to take on a second dog; things have worked out very well and both dogs are a great addition to our family.

We adopted Reggie (formerly Sugar), a female, 11 month at the time labradoodle mix last December. She was very timid but once comfortable proved to be an active pup with lots of energy. She is also incredibly smart and very sweet. With a little training she has become a great addition to our family.
When a 9 month female labradoodle mix also named Sugar was on the website last week, we just had to go meet her. We were cautioned that Sugar (now called Randi) is a very high energy dog with no training. When we learned this was her second time at the humane society, being returned after only six weeks, we just couldn't leave her there. The first day home was a little chaotic as Randi got used to her surroundings and Reggie got used to the idea of sharing her home and parents with another pup. Within a couple days they were settled into a routine and having a blast playing together. They love to play out in the yard every chance they get.
Randi still has some commands to learn, but has quickly picked up on the basic house rules. She is also quite smart, and we look forward to taking her to the new adopters training classes. We are so glad we made the decision to bring home both Reggie and Randi.
