Holly girl

All because I had to pick up the license

6 weeks ago I went to NHS to pick up Beaux's license. She's my 9 month old Shiz Tzu Papillion mix. I thought, well, while I"m here....so I went into the kennel area, walked a little ways and saw Holly. I said hello and she laid on her side and let me pet her tummy through the cage. Oh! what did I do? I asked to see her in the meeting room. I kept thinking "what am I doing?" Well they brought her in and I immediately fell in love. She gave me kisses then let us know she had to go outside. When the lady brought her back in Holly have me a kiss. I was hooked. The lady, I wish I could remember her name, gave me the letter her previous owner had written. The poor man couldn't keep her. He had her since she was a pup and had to give her up. She's 9 1/2 years old. I started tearing up reading the story. The lady said others at the shelter did the same thing. I brought her home. Well, haven't seen my cats much lately, Holly wants to "play" with them LOL. Beaux was so excited to have a big sister! Holly wasn't so sure. The first week was very difficult. We had to keep them separated when we weren't home. By the second week Beaux figured out that if Holly grumbled, she needed to leave her alone. Well, now 6 weeks later they stay home alone when I'm at work, they eat together, sleep together and actually play hide and seek! It is so funny! Her previous owner was right, sometimes you have to spell things because Holly knows the words "Frisbee" "go for a ride" "bye bye" When we say Holly want to go for a ride? Her ears perk up and she starts dancing around like a pup. She definately doesn't act like a 9 year old. My girls, 14 & 10 just love her. She is a part of our family and can't imagine life without her. My 4 girls "fight" for who gets to sit in the front seat of the car! Usually Holly wins! She knows the girls by name and now knows "grandma"-my mom. When I sit at my computer she comes up and nudges my arm then lays her head on my leg. Yeah, she's knows she'll get a treat. We discovered this weekend she likes playing in a little swimming pool. Too funny! I didn't think I'd want to adopt an older dog but Holly has changed my mind. I want her "daddy" to know that she has found a forever home with people that love her. Someday I would like to find him so he can see how well she's doing. He took such good care of her. Thank you for bringing her into our lives and family!
