Cookie and Honey Bear were both adopted from NHS
Cookie was adopted April 2010, after we lost our 19 year old beagle mix. Cookie is the happiest dog we have ever seen. Since her tail is so short she wags her whole body to let you know she is happy. All you have to do is look at her; call her name for her to smile from ear to ear.
Cookie loves to go to the dog parks. She enjoys being around other dogs. So we decided she needed her very own dog/playmate. I checked the NHS website daily looking for a match and found Honey Bear in the lost and found. I knew when I saw her she was the one we've been waiting for. As soon as she was transferred to the adoption area she became ours. We adopted Honey Bear October 2011.
Cookie and Honey Bear are often side by side, running, playing and sleeping. They also seem to tell me its mealtime together. Honey Bear is smaller but has absolutely no problem keeping up with Cookie.
When dogs are introduced sometimes they need a "getting to know" period of time before they get along. This was not so for Cookie and Honey Bear. They started playing immediately becoming best of friends. It was as if it was meant to be. To this day they enjoy each other's company.
