Charley's Story - Eeyore to Home The placement of a "difficult" dog is a joy forever. When we received notification that the Humane Society was looking for a home for Eeyore (now known as Charley) we were not really looking for another dog. However, after we read his story and talked to Judy Varner, there was no way we could ever have turned him away. He had been very severely abused, survived mulitple hip surgeries and PT. He was a mastiff mix to boot, making him not the dog for everyone. Since we have had this breed for years, we were not put off. When I went out to meet this guy, it was easy to see that he had stolen everyone at NHS' heart. It made the decision easy. I took him home that day and introduced him to his new doggie brothers and sisters. What a wonderful, sweet joyous dog is our Charley. You can have the worst day of your life and yet, when you get home and get a Charley greeting, life seems infinitely better. He is the happiest dog and we are truly blessed to have given him a forever home. |
