Our little Roxanne

A typical trip to NHS turned into an unexpected surprise.
I was making a quick trip to pick up some dog supplies from the NHS gift shop when I decided to take a quick peak at the animals (as if we needed another...).
I came upon a cat whom I had seen in an NHS email a few days before; her name was Roxanne. I could not pass up the opportunity to see her. Roxanne was a grey and white Persian with big, beautiful eyes. Her matted Persian hair had been shaved off due to the fact she was found stray and had been declawed on all four claws. Her two front teeth were missing causing her tongue to be permanently stuck out of her mouth; this also caused issues with her eating habits, leading her to be underweight. This was her second visit to NHS in her 11 year life and I was hoping to make it her last.
I was hooked. This odd yet adorable cat had to be mine. Upon bringing Roxanne home, she ran straight to her "cubbie" and hid for a couple days. It did not take long before she was running around the house with our two younger cats. Her hair has grown back and she has put back on the weight she had lost. Her tongue still sticks out of her mouth but we like to consider it her trademark. She is our little Roxanne.
