Summer Love

My boyfriend and I cannot imagine life without her.

My boyfriend and I had been looking to adopt a dog for several weeks when we decided to make a "quick" stop at the NHS on July 3 of 2011. We weren't planning on meeting or adopting a dog that day - we just wanted to look. And then we met a beautiful girl named Love. I knelt down in front of her kennel and she came up to me to say hello, trying to give me kisses. I instantly fell in love with her, and no matter what I had to do, I was going to take her home with me. Two days later, I was able to make that happen. Her name is now Lily, and since we adopted her, we have been able to change many people's minds about pit bulls. They are not the dogs the media portrays them as, and Lily is the perfect example of that - she is sweet, loving, and a very well-mannered young lady. In August of 2011 she was able to pass the Canine Good Citizen test and become a breed ambassador!
