Room for one more dog in need of a forever home.

He was a "Champ", and now he's our little Rocky.

My husband and I talked about adding another dog to our pack of 2 toy Rat Terriers, but hadn't really started looking for another dog. At least until we heard about the 65 little dogs rescued last August. I saw "Champ" on the NHS site, and he looked a little rugged because of a flea allergy. But, he also looked really happy with his tongue hanging out and his ears blowing back in the wind.

When we stopped in at the NHS to see Champ in person, he worked my husband and mostly ignored me. But, that is when I knew just how smart that little dog was because he knew he had me already. That made me laugh out loud. What a character!

He is the one on the right in the photo, and it's plain to see how good he can be when treats are just north of the photographer. Hee Hee.

He really is a good dog and learned commands rapidly. He is also now housebroken, which also speaks to how smart he is especially since he was in a hoarding situation.

We can't imagine life without him now since he makes us laugh and is so affectionate and playful. You see, that isn't always the case with dogs from a hoarding situation. We were prepared to give him extra space and time to get used to us, but he proved to be just the opposite. He loves to cudde and play ball. He loves attention and can't stand to be alone. He gets along with our other 2 dogs, and we couldn't be happier with Rocky choosing my husband!

By the way, with good food, vitamin oil, and regular medicated shampoo baths, his fur has grown back. I call him my shiny new penny.
