Senior given a chance at life

2012 will be her 19th birthday!

We adopted Peanut, who was then a senior at 7 yrs old, around 1999/2000. She had been found as a stray and was heartworm positive. NHS treated her for the heartworm and then she was up for adoption. We walked thru the adoption area and she was the only dog NOT barking. She was just sitting there intently watching us. We knew she was THE ONE. She has been the best dog over the years. And even tho she was diagnosed with Addison's disease 10 years ago, people still think she's a puppy when they see her. 2012 will be her 19th birthday! Sure, she has slowed down a bit, has a gray muzzle now, and sometimes can't see or hear very well, but we love her just the same! Thank you NHS for giving her a chance at life!
