Baxter Love

Baxter is as happy as can be and I am as happy as can be to have the sweetest cat in the world.

My parents adopted the sweetest black and white cat before I was born in 1992. A lot of the childhood memories I do have, I remember Jinx being a bit part of. I grew up with that cat; he was not only the greatest pet, but also my best friend. He was so playful and always a joy to be around. Anyways, on December 23, 2003 Jinx passed away. It was the first time in my life I had ever seen my dad cry because he was so close to Jinx. We knew that replacing him was not an option, but my family wanted to do something special for my dad for Christmas. We figured that adopting another pet to love would ease the pain of losing another one so the next day, my mom, sister, and I went to NHS to find a new cat. Right when we walked into the room, this sweet little orange cat jumped right into my mom's arms and we knew we just had to have him. He was basically asking us to take him home! We adopted him and gave him to my dad that night. My family all adored him and we all agreed on the name Baxter. 8 years later, Baxter is now living in Lincoln with me and his best friend Elliot (who is also an orange cat). I lived in the dorms last year and I couldn't stand the thought of being away from my cats for one more year so after much convincing, my parents finally decided to let me take Baxter and Elliot with me to college. After all, they already have 3 more cats at home to love! So Baxter and Elliot came to Lincoln with me and they love it at our new house! They love my roommates and my roommates love my cats. They love to explore all of the new places in the house; they are always getting into cabinets. They get an insane amount of attention and love from all of my friends that come to visit. Needless to say, Baxter is as happy as can be and I am as happy as can be to have the sweetest cat in the world.
