Mocha's Field Trip!

Mocha apparently didn't get the memo on "Dogs-Chasing-Mailmen," because he met our mail carrier and was a perfect gentleman. Matt took him for a potty-break on his lunch-break and is proud to report that he came home to Mocha quiet in our bedroom...No accidents...AND a successful potty and poop.

After some evening fetch, we took a car-ride to Three Dog Bakery. He, again, did very well on the ride. Loading on the driver's side and using the seat-belt harness makes our boy a happy pup. He stood in his seat for about 2 minutes-then layed down and relaxed. He's good about waiting at cross-walks...But was shocked to see a man on a bicycle, he said "What the heck is that?!" (Actually he barked at the guy...but calmed down after a minute or so.)

We were happy to be the only customers in the store, so we had lots of time to sniff around and look at fun toys. He didn't grab at the toys...He didn't bark...He didn't pull on the leash...He really did well. The highlight?! He showed off to the girl at the counter...with a "Sit" on command! He got a peanut-mutter cookie for that! On our way back to the car a couple talked to him and told him how cute he is...He accepted the compliments and we strutted back to the car-Mocha showing off his best "Swagger."

Mocha was tired by the time we got home. Mocha and I hung out in the bedroom with a 46 inch-high baby gate set up in the door. My cat, Earnest, looked in at us from the hall...Mocha looked out at him...Earnest meowed and rubbed the gate...Mocha bowed, sniffed, and made some noises (Not barks or whines...More like puppy talk). It was a pretty successful controlled-introduction. (Later, when Mocha and I were in bed, Earnest stared at me...seemingly jealous...and confused about why I brought another baby home.)
