And I didn't want a dog...

And I didn't want a dog...
And I didn't want a dog...

For nearly a year my daughter bugged me to get a dog. I resisted time and time again... until I saw that face! The face of Goliath.

It's true, I didn't want a dog. I have had many dogs over the years and knew they are a great responsibility, lots of work to train, and sometimes expensive. For weeks on end my daughter Keli would show me pictures of dogs on the NHS website. I would look and then say to myself, we just can't afford a dog. Then one day in October 2010 she showed me the face of Goliath. I just couldn't get him out of my mind, I even dreamed about him. After realizing he had been at NHS for quite sometime I agreed to go meet him. He couldn't have been more adorable. Well, to make a long story short, he came home with us that day.

It was a great decision. He is a sweet boy that is loads of fun. Always up for a walk or a snuggle whichever you are wanting at the time. He's smart, required little training, and is a perfect doggy in the house. He doesn't even need a kennel! Goliath has been a part of our family for a year now and fits in perfectly. We walk every day at least twice and he has gained 15 pounds and I lost 35!
I believe that all dogs are born sweet and it's bad people that make them mean or aggressive. To anyone out there who is looking for a wonderful friend, I highly recommend a pit bull, they are just a blast!
