We are thrilled that Mark Langan, VP of Field Operations at NHS, has recently written a book about his experience both with the Omaha Police Department and the Nebraska Humane Society. Join us at NHS for his book launching party for his new book, “Busting Bad Guys, My True Crime Stories of Bookies, Drug Dealers and Ladies of the Night.” This will be held on Thursday, January 30th from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the NHS auditorium. There will be light refreshments, some very interesting displays of street level drugs found in Omaha, and all in a building full of animals for your enjoyment. Since Mark Langan joined our staff in 2004, the lives of animals in the Omaha area have improved beyond measure. Because of his years as the head of the Drug Unit of the Omaha Police Department, he has a wealth of knowledge about law enforcement, and how to “get the bad guys.” He has brought all of that experience and knowledge, along with his passion for animals, to NHS. Our Animal Control Department is highly respected in the court room, by law enforcement and by other animal control agencies around the country. Through Mark’s efforts, we were named the Animal Control Agency of the Year by the National Animal Control Association. The Animal Legal Defense Fund has told us we have one of the highest conviction rates in the country. The animals of the Omaha area have a hero. Mark’s book is an exciting, true-to-life story about a city we all love. We are very excited to be able to provide you an opportunity to meet the author, visit the animals and purchase an autographed copy .
